Town Rescue Squad

The community is served by the Massena Volunteer Emergency Unit, Inc. (the Massena Rescue Squad), which provides Advanced EMT and Critical Care service throughout the Town and Village. Chartered in 1960, it is made up of highly skilled and trained volunteers, with oversight provided by the Massena Volunteer Emergency Unit Board of Managers. Massena Rescue Squad's equipment includes 4 squads, 1 crash truck, a dive truck, 3 boats, and 50 qualified and dedicated volunteers who always welcome new members, please contact the Squad to notify them of your interest in service.

Appointments to the MVEU Board are for 5 year terms and are made by the Town of Massena.  The Board presently includes: Roger M. Bennett, Patrick Peets, Ed Hamel, Lenore Levine and Ralph Bathelt.
